NYC Mayor Says Candidates MUST Believe in Science, Global Warming

New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg went on a rant at Columbia University on Thursday when criticized the GOP presidential candidates who fail to push the left-wing agenda of evolution and global warming.

“We have presidential candidates who don’t believe in science,” Bloomberg told the international economic forum. “I mean think about it – can you imagine a company of any size in the world where the CEO said, “oh, I don’t believe in science’ and that person surviving to the end of that day? Are you kidding me? It’s mind-boggling?”

When asked to comment on which candidate he was talking about, […]

And the Bible Says…

Everyone likes to quote the Bible; even non-Christians. It’s God’s written word to us and an inspired source of guidance for both believers and non-believers. The only problem is, sometimes people think they are quoting scripture when they are just throwing out an often used, but potentially useful piece of advice.

So was the case with White House press secretary Jay Carney on Wednesday.

In a White House press conference, Carney was responding to a question from Associated Press reporter Erica Werner on President Obama’s criticism of the House of Representatives in reaffirming “In God We Trust” as the nations motto.

Obama said, […]

Rice Advises Cain Not to Play ‘Race Card’

Condoleezza Rice, who served as Secretary of State under President George W. Bush, is giving GOP presidential candidate Herman Cain some unsolicited and free advice: “Don’t play the race card” in what looks like a game of high stakes poker with the national media.

“I actually am someone who doesn’t believe in playing the race card on either side,” Rice said in an interview on CBS’ “The Early Show” that aired on Wednesday. I’ve seen it played, by the way, on the other side quite a lot too. And it’s not good for the country.”

Cain has been under intense pressure since […]

Eric Cantor ‘Booed’ While Exercising ‘Free Speech’ at Univ. of Michigan

Rep. Eric Cantor (R-Va.) received a somewhat less-than-enthusiastic reception from some protesters when he expressed his support for the Defense of Marriage Act while addressing a crowd of about 350 at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor on Monday.

At the completion of Cantor remarks, the Virginia congressman was asked: “How do you reconcile your position with states rights and the Constitution and your support of the Defense of Marriage Act?”

“I’ve always been very straightforward about this. I just believe in traditional marriage between a man and a woman,” said Cantor.

What came next may have been of little surprise to […]

Perry Says Participation in Debates was ‘Mistake’

Campaign debates, be they for the presidency of the U.S. or for school board, give voters a way to compare candidates side-by-side, similar to going to a used car lot as you’re deciding whether to buy the Ford 150 pickup truck or the fuel-efficient Toyota Prism.

Texas Gov. Rick Perry, who is trying to resurrect this now dismal poll numbers is now saying that participating in the recent GOP presidential debates was a “mistake.”

There’s no doubt that Perry is a skilled and experienced politician. On more than one occasion he’s dealt with the rough and tumble world of hardball Texas politics […]

What Mormons Really Believe

I bet I  know what you’re thinking. Hasn’t this issue gone away? I mean, we’ve beat this horse until there’s not much left.

During the Value Voters summit in Washington a few weeks ago, Dallas pastor Robert Jeffress, while being interviewed by a reporter, said Mormonism was a cult and that Mitt Romney was not a Christian.

Yeah, I have an opinion on that too.

After a few thousand stories written from just about every angle possible, the issue kind of came and went. But not really.

Sara Devinish, a fellow reporter at The Christian Post wrote a wonderful three-part series on “What Mormons […]
