Unfortunately, our society continues to focus on ways to prohibit responsible people from owning guns while ignoring prohibitions that would keep those with emotional or mental illness away from these same weapons.

On Turning 50

God gives us but a single take in this life; there really are no do-overs. We cannot rewind time even for a millisecond to right a wrong, get another at bat, rephrase a word spoken in haste, raise our children with patience instead of anger, or restart a marriage from the honeymoon. The old refrain “Only one life, will soon be past. Only what’s done for Christ will last” gains meaning with each moment.

Tensions Between Former Spouses Surface Over Boyfriend Texting Children

Since our divorce was finalized in June of 2010, my former spouse and I for the most part have gotten along quite well. Sure, there are those moments of tension and frustration that creep up at times and until recently a phone conversation or face-to-face meeting would clear things up. But yesterday the conversation took at downward turn over a request I made for another man to stop texting my children.
