Dear Friends & Constituents,

Cordova Leaders:

Hello. . .The Cordova Leadership Council would like to invite you to The Future of Cordova Politics-The Candidates Forum - June 29th @ 6:00 PM in the Cordova High School Auditorium. Mayor AC Wharton and opponent County Commissioner John Willingham will address citizens to answer questions specific to the Cordova area. The three sheriff candidates, Mark Luttrell, Reginald French, and John Harvey will also conduct dialog with the audience.

Participation for the Forum has been received from the Shelby County commissioners, US Congressional Districts 7 and 9, State Senate District 31, Tennessee House of Representatives Districts 96 and 99, and races for judges, trustee, charter commissioners, court clerks, and county register. A Meet and Greet Your Candidates will begin at 6:00 PM.

President of the Cordova Leadership Council, Mark Chambers states, “If you've ever said, ‘I would like to vote, but I'm not familiar with the candidates or their platform,’ then here's your opportunity. Instead of playing a memory game at the voting booth, recalling names you've seen on signs and searching for them on the ballot, here is a real opportunity to get to know the candidates by meeting with them face-to-face and hearing them pitch their plans for Cordova.”

Voter registration will also be available for incoming Cordova residents who may not have had time to register their new address with the Election Commission. Whether you are new to Shelby County or have relocated to the Cordova area, you will be able to register to vote at the Candidates Forum on June 29. The deadline for voter registration is July 3.

The new Diebold voting machines featuring touch screen technology will also be on location for review. Myra Stiles, former member of the Shelby County Election Commission will be available to teach Cordovans how to operate the computerized process and how to review your selections before entering the final vote. This is your opportunity to interact with the new machines and learn how to cast your vote electronically.

Please visit our website http://www.cordovaleadershipcouncil.org  and post your comments or questions for the candidates on our feedback form. For more information email Info@CordovaLeadershipCouncil.org  or call Mark Chambers at 870-7050.

We look forward to seeing you on June 29,

Cordova Leadership Council
