State Senator Paul Stanley - District 31 State Rep. Paul Stanley enters District 31 State Senate Race (Cordova, Tenn., February 22, 2006) – State Rep. Paul Stanley (R-Cordova, Germantown) today announced his intention to seek the District 31 State Senate seat being vacated by longtime incumbent Sen. Curtis Person of Memphis.“I am excited about the opportunity to serve in the State Senate. For the past six years I have had the honor of representing Cordova and Germantown in the House of Representatives. During my first campaign I promised my district I would oppose a state income tax, fight for special school districts, protect the unborn and allow business owners the opportunity to grow and prosper with limited government intervention. I have done all those and more and am now prepared to continue my work in the State Senate,” remarked Rep. Stanley. “Next year Republicans should have a controlling majority in the State Senate. My tenure in the House, combined with my current position as Republican House Floor Leader will allow me to have an immediate impact in the Senate. I look forward to working with Sen. Mark Norris and my many friends in the Senate to address important issues such as medical malpractice reform and eminent domain legislation,” said Stanley. Rep. Stanley, his wife Kristi and their two children Roan and Mary Morgan reside in Germantown. They are active members of Christ United Methodist Church. Senate District 31 includes most of Germantown, Cordova and over half of
Bartlett. The Republican Primary is August 3rd, and the general
election is November 7th. |
