Yet the question remains \u2013 how much does the public have a right to know about a candidates personal and family life and how should voters weigh this information when deciding whom to vote for?<\/p>\n<p>Penny Nance, The CEO of Concerned Women of America weighed in on the issue with an opinion piece and in a conversation with The Christian Post, saying that yes, \u201ccharacter does and should matter.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think the public does have a right to know about a candidate\u2019s personal background,\u201d Nance told The Christian Post. \u201cHow a person conducts themselves says a lot about how they are going to lead and govern \u2013 not to mention how they think.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe question before citizens is, \u2018Do we have a right to hold elected officials to a high moral standard?\u2019\u201d Nance wrote in her column.
