  State Senator Paul Stanley - District 31

Senator Paul Stanley has represented Senate District 31 (Bartlett, Cordova, Germantown) in the Tennessee State Senate since 2006.   He also served six year in the Tennessee House of Representatives after being elected in November of 2000 and where he served as Republican Floor Leader in the 104th General Assembly.

Senator Stanley currently serves as Vice-Chairman of the Senate Commerce Committee and on the Judiciary, Government Operations and Fiscal Review committees.

During his first year in the legislature He was instrumental in serving on the Budget Reduction Committee that recommended over $400 million in reductions and reallocations. He has sponsored and passed many pro-business and technology bills and has a 100% rating from the National Federation of Independent Businesses, NRA and Tennessee Right to Life.

Senator Stanley has been involved in political and legislative affairs for many years. In 1995 he was elected State Chairman of the Tennessee Young Republican Federation and helped organize the “Take Back Tennessee” legislative campaign in 1996.

From 1997 -1999 he was Vice Chairman of the Young Republican National Federation. Paul was Senior Field Representative to U.S. Senator Bill Frist from 1995-1997 and served on the Republican State Executive Committee from 1998-2002. He is a member of Christ United Methodist Church where he serves as a Sunday school teacher and board member of their day school.

In addition to his legislative duties, Senator Stanley is very active in the community and is a member of the Bartlett Chamber of Commerce, Germantown Chamber of Commerce, Germantown Kiwanis, and a board member of Generations, a nonprofit organization in Memphis that provides programs for senior citizens and children. Most recently he founded and organized the Cordova Leadership Council.

Senator Stanley was born in Savannah, TN and is a 1985 graduate of Texas Tech University. He currently works as a Financial Advisor for Stanford Group Company.  Senator Stanley and his wife Kristi have two children, Roan and Mary Morgan. They reside in Germantown.
